Alexa Boghosian, 15 year-old student at Marlborough High, has independently launched an environmental-based program called The Green Teens.

The Green Teens—a group of about 15 Beverly Hills and Marlborough students, go into underprivileged schools to teach kids about their personal role to protect and  help correct the environment. They teach everything from recycling and environmental literacy to gardening and water conservation.

The curriculum is designed and fully promoted by Alexa and her group members. Being the driving force behind the program, Alexa has recently received a $2,500 grant from the Alliance for Climate Education for her hard work. In addition, she was featured on Al Gore's Inconvenient Youth website.

The group hopes to make The Green Teens a city-wide high-school-to-elementary-school environmental mentoring program.
