LAUP Supports Preschools

LAUP students have fun while learning.

Do you know that families have access to free and very low cost high quality preschool programs right in their own communities?

Well it’s true, thanks to Los Angeles Universal Preschool (LAUP).

Since 2005, LAUP has supported the operation and development of 325 preschools in L.A. County, touching the lives of more than 40,000 children.

Families are given the opportunity to  receive  quality and affordable preschool education through enriching curricula in nurturing environments to best prepare children to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

LAUP’s mission is to  improve the current education system in Los Angeles County in the hopes of preparing children academically and socially before the start of kindergarten.

“What really makes a huge difference that we focus on here at LAUP is a child’s social and emotional development, and kindergarten readiness. We help them problem solve, give them the language to express themselves and as a result, we have less tantrums and the kids build up their self confidence,” said preschool teacher Monica Abundiz.

Students enjoyed a fun day of costumes at school.
