The Children’s Book World, a full-service children’s bookshop in West Los Angeles, will host its “Storytime and Book Signing” with ice skating sensation, Kristi Yamaguchi at Overland Elementary School, 10650 Ashby Ave., on Mar. 21 at 1 p.m.

This event is open to the public for children ages four and up. Skating Champion Kristi Yamaguchi will read from her new picture book Dream Big, Little Pig!-a story about a pig named Poppy who has big dreams-lots of them. For Poppy, following her dreams isn’t as easy as it sounds. Poppy wants to be a ballerina, a singer, and a supermodel, but people keep telling her no. With the love and support from her friends and family, Poppy achieves her dreams.

In this fun read, Poppy will inspire readers to believe that they can achieve their goals as well. The motto, “Always Dream”, serves as Kristi’s personal inspiration as well as the name of her charitable foundation, Always Dream Foundation.

Yamaguchi is an ice skating Olympic gold medalist and world champion who knows from experience about dreaming big. The “Always Dream” philosophy has contributed to Yamaguchi’s success on and off the ice, and is one that she aspires to instill in the hearts of children.
