Fourteen BHHS students will be attending the California DECA State Career Development Conference in Santa Clara at the Santa Clara Marriott from March 3-6, to compete in a variety of replicated business situations.

DECA is an international student marketing association that prepares up-and-coming leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. In addition, DECA upholds an understanding and appreciation of the free enterprise system as well as the responsibilities of citizenship.

The fourteen students attending the conference are: Delaram Ahmadyveasi, Sandra Castillo, Cindy Chow, Aurora DuBois, Francesca Hall, Edward Lee, Isaac Lutbak, Arienne Mandi, Daniel Mirharooni, Jessica Rodriguez, Sarah Sarandos, Ryan Sassounian, Nina Vir, and Diamond Weathers.

By attending this conference, the students will not only have the opportunity to compete in a variety of simulated business situations, due to the competitions reflection of the actual businesses’ atmosphere, but they will also have the opportunity to meet judges from the real businesses-providing a true representation of the industry.

Approximately 100 business professionals will evaluate the estimated 750 members competing.  The winners will proceed to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida this April.
